Do you ever think of adding , deleting or commenting your google search result ?

Now google pays way for it.

Today google launches SearchWiki , a way for you to customize search by re-ranking, deleting, adding, and commenting on search results. With just a single click you can move the results you like to the top or add a new site. You can also write notes attached to a particular site and remove results that you don't feel belong. These modifications will be shown to you every time you do the same search in the future. SearchWiki is available to signed-in Google users. It store your changes in your Google Account. If you are wondering if you are signed in, you can always check by noting if your username appears in the upper right-hand side of the page.

The changes you make only affect your own searches. But SearchWiki also is a great way to share your insights with other searchers. You can see how the community has collectively edited the search results by clicking on the "See all notes for this SearchWiki" link.

This new feature is an example of how search is becoming increasingly dynamic, giving people tools that make search even more useful to them in their daily lives. Google have been testing bits and pieces of SearchWiki for some time through live experiments, and it incorporated much of its learning into this release. It constantly striving to improve users' search experience, and this is yet another step along the way.

Google chrome Review

Hi reader , since i was busy with my class exam it took me more time to write my reviews on google chrome. Yet another BETA product from google . This time its fast , elegant browser . I almost played a day with chrome before publishing my first review on it … Here it goes….

Small sized installation file - The install was small 468k so the download was fast and the install took about 15 seconds so in well under a minute I went from “click” to “play”.

Bug while importing bookmarks first time - I was happy when the installation process offered to import all my bookmarks from Firefox - something Firefox users like me will be sure to appreciate. But unfortunately it did not work for me at all: It warned me that I had to close Firefox first for import to happen.

Importing setting - - I did as advised and clicked the “next” button - but no matter how many times I clicked that button no import happened so I had to cancel it finally.
Finally had my bookmarks imported from Firefox (which includes saved passwords and browsing history - since both are incredibly important for the majority of users, I am so sure this functionality must determine probability of people actually migrating).

Elegant Style browser - Finally i had my browser up and running . I have to admit, it is quite a strange feeling for me not to have any menu at all . It gives me feeling like viewing browser in full Screen view but actually its orginal view .

URL Box serves all purpose - This is one of the cool feature.Ever hated having to enter search terms in a separate edit box in the browser? Not any more, all the features are integrated into the single address/search/history/etc bar.

Every Tab itself a browser ( Crash Control ) - This is other cool feature . If u have 4 tabs opened and you want the third tab alone to be opened in separate browser , just drag that tab alone outside ,that’s it . This is achieved by running Tabs independently in the browser , so if one app crashes it won’t take anything else down i.e Each tab runs it’s own process ( you can see this in your task Manager ).

Incognito Mode - This feature is almost similar to the private browsing feature that came up with safari browser. Pages viewed will not appear in the browser history and they won’t leave any other traces.

Safe Browsing - Google Chrome warns you if you’re about to visit a suspected phishing, malware or otherwise unsafe website.

Google's Beta concept - safeway to run product/service without user criticism.

Gmail? Excellent , superb, it rocks! This what every users say about it . But have you ever wondered why “Gmail or anyother gmail product or service is still in BETA!” What does BETA mean to Google? Before discussing it lets see what the word “Beta” actually stands for .

“Beta describes the state of an application during its development, when it has more or less full functionality but is still being tested.
During Beta, bugs can still occur so users of the software are made aware of this. New functionality can still be introduced though it’s not that common at this stage.
Following beta, the application is considered almost ready for launch. It becomes a release candidate and then goes through a phase of extensive testing prior to release”.

But how does Google decide whether an product/service is stable and out of BETA? It seems, Google considers BETA as a final release for many of its products and services.

At least Google.com is not in BETA now!

Funny Error message to turn user attention:

“Bad, bad server. No donut for you. Unfortunately, the orkut.com server has acted out in an unexpected way. Hopefully, it will return to its helpful self if you try again in a few minutes. It’s likely that the server will behave this way on occasion during the coming months. We apologize for the inconvenience and for our server’s lack of consideration for others.“

Those are the common error message when the gmail server encounters heavy traffic. In this way google developers show their sense of humor and turn the user attention ( Good Strategy ) .

Eventhough Google keeps rolling out new features in Gtalk , Gmail , orkut etc but someone needs to draw Google’s Attention and say on fixing some bugs users experience with it.

Firefox + Safari = IE 8 Beta 2

The subject line might be confusing but to say really IE 8 Beta is back with an impressive update for a software that stagnated in Microsoft for the past years. Its more elegant and easier to use, while adding many of the missing features.

“The brand-new implementation of Standards mode in Internet Explorer 8 offers the best viewing experience of web pages created according to the latest web standards.” That means many of the web pages that include code custom tailored for IE won’t look very good, so you need to enable a compatibility view (for some reason, intranet sites are rendered in the compatibility mode by default). A post from March has more information about Microsoft’s decision to apply the standards mode by default.

IE8 adds support for suggestions in the search box and this is not restricted to Live Search. Microsoft lists many search providers that can be added: Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia and others. The new interface makes it easy to switch between search providers by clicking on the icons displayed at the bottom.

Another feature that should have been added to IE7 is inline search: now you can search inside a page from an elegant bar similar to the one from Safari.

Notepad wasn’t the best software for viewing the source code of a page, so IE8 includes a simple text viewer like Firefox and safari with syntax highlighting. Too bad that you can’t view the source code for selections.

A great feature from Google Toolbar allowed you to select some text from a web page and send it to Blogger, Gmail or other services. Microsoft added this feature and calls it “accelerator“. “Tired of cutting and pasting information from one website to another for everyday tasks? Now there’s a better way. Accelerators give you ready access to the online services you use everyday—from any page you visit.”

Firefox’s microsummaries didn’t become popular even if they solved an interesting problem: subscribing to frequently updated information like stock quotes or weather reports. IE’s web slices, based on the hAtom microformat, are more visually appealing, but I couldn’t find any interesting example in the gallery. Internet Explorer lets you add to the favorites bar heterogeneous subscriptions: bookmarks, feeds and web slices, even though the subscription process is not uniform. Like Firefox 3, the latest version of IE adds one-click bookmarking, visually represented by a star icon.

IE8 includes a security feature that will be rarely used for non-adult sites: private browsing. “InPrivate Browsing in Internet Explorer 8 similar to safari Private browsing that helps prevent your browsing history, temporary Internet files, form data, cookies, and usernames and passwords from being retained by the browser, leaving no evidence of your browsing or search history.” To use it, you need to click on Safety > InPrivate Browsing, which opens a new window where you can browse privately. To permanently use private browsing, edit IE’s shortcut and append -private in the target field (you could also type iexplore -private in the Run dialog or Vista’s search box).

Overall, this is a highly recommended update for IE7, even though you’ll find some sites aren’t displayed properly. Google Maps finally works well but igoogle sucks and some Google services like Gmail have minor interface problems. IE looks good again and I’ll probably try to use it again ….

But still all i want to ask one thing to the IE developer community
“What does IE8 have ” new “that I would have to leave Firefox for? “

Nearly 40,000 people celebrated the handing over of the Olympic flag to London Mayor Boris Johnson in Beijing, signalling the beginning of the city's reign as Olympic host city for Olympic 2012.

The celebration also featured British Olympians including Dame Mary Peters, Roger Black, Sally Gunnell and Sharron Davies.

London will become the first city to stage the Olympics for a third time in 2012. On both previous occasions the capital staged the Games at short notice.

While in 1908 Rome pulled out of hosting the Olympics following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, in 1948, London staged the Austerity Games following World War II.

Laptop for every child - Niuean proved once again

The One Laptop Per Child programme has lived up to its name in the tiny South Pacific nation of Niue, where 100% of children now have one.

500 of the programme's XO laptops were distributed this week to primary and high school students.

The rugged, waterproof laptops have been designed as a cheap way to bring the internet to children in the developing world.

There are 4500 more laptops earmarked for the Pacific region as a whole.

It is not the first time that Niue has proven to be ahead of the technological curve; in 2003, it became the first territory to offer free wireless internet to all its inhabitants.

Besides instant wireless websurfing, the schoolchildren will also be able to communicate with each other within a radius of one kilometre without going online.

Secretariat of the Pacific Community director general Jimmie Rodgers was quoted by the AFP news wire as saying that the laptops "have the potential to revolutionise education in ways that are difficult to imagine."

Originally the brainchild of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Laboratory, the effort has grown to garner the support of large corporations, including Google.

Born : 6 January 1967

AR Rahman holds the credit for totally overhauling the style in which music was being made in India. Though with a career spanning just over a decade, Rahman has already sold over one hundred million records world-wide and more than two hundred million cassettes. This has brought AR Rahman into the category of the world's top 25 all-time top selling recording artists.

Allah Rakha Rahman, who is better known as AR Rahman, is a world-class musician of India. Born as A. S. Dileep Kumar on 6 January 1967 at Chennai in Tamil Nadu, AR Rahman holds the credit for totally overhauling the style in which music was being made in India. Soundtracks and scores composed by him for Indian films have a strong impression of classical, folk, jazz, reggae, soft rock and other genres. Due to his creative brilliance, AR Rahman is often referred to as the Mozart of Madras by his fans in India and abroad.

The biography of AR Rahman's career spans somewhere over a decade, but he has already sold over one hundred million records world-wide and more than two hundred million cassettes. This has brought Rahman into the category of the world's top 25 all-time top selling recording artists. Though AR Rahman is the undisputed leader in Indian contemporary music in the present times, he has seen his share of struggle in the professional life.

His father, R K Shekhar, who was a composer, arranger and conductor for Malayalam films died when Rahman was just 9 years-old and his family rented out musical equipment as a source of income. Later there was a turning point when Dileep Kumar decided to rechristen himself as A R Rahman. This incident happened when Rahman's sister was very ill once. A Muslim friend suggested if he prayed in a particular mosque, his sister would recover and so did happen. This caused the entire family to convert to Islam.

The life history of AR Rahman's music career started scaling upwards 1991 onwards when began his own studio and started making music for advertisements, television channels and so on. Rahman got his very first break into the Indian film industry when film director, Mani Ratnam offered him a chance to compose music for his Tamil film, Roja at mere Rs 25,000. This movie turned out to be blockbuster hit and then there was no looking back for A.R. Rahman.

Roja debut made AR Rahman bag the Rajat Kamal award for best music director at the National Film Awards. This was a historic moment as for the first time ever in Indian film industry, this award was being handed to a first-time film composer. There was no looking back for AR Rahman after this as film offers just started pouring in. There are now an impressive number of music tracks created by Rahman and all of them have sold like hot cakes across India and even abroad. He has made songs for super hit films like Rangeela, Dil Se Taal, Rang De Basanti, Bombay dreams , Sakkarakatti( new) etc

Google Beijing olumpic logos and the creator

Its always nice to see the search engine gaint comes up with new doodles on every special day in this world . Google is not only famous for their search engine but also for their Google Doodles which are cartoon modifications of the Google logo to commemorate special holidays, birthdays of famous people, and major events like the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.This is the new way to cover the viewers by changing logo. Even if we forget to search the on going Olympic result yet the logo remind us to search the Olympic news because the styles of the logos have been designed simply attractive and enjoyable as the Olympic Games.

However, these logos do not make any different in us but it is sure that it will deprive some seconds of us. Although changing the logos doesn’t make any different for Google yet they are doing to attract the viewer and Olympic fan is a great job.

Who is behind all this ?

These logos are created by Dennis Hwang , a 29-year-old Korean computer artist in the United States, who has been drawing the face of Google for almost eight years, creating a buzz of sorts with his simple yet witty designs.

My Brand new compaq blows out

HI friends i am back again after almost a month gap from my previous post . This time i am not going to discuss anything techie but all about my worst experience that i had in my brand new laptop.

Yup! Here the story begins . I brought a HP Compaq laptop a month ago in India ( Compaq presario C700 ) . I took it with me to Australia . For the first two days, it was perfect in all aspects but it was on the third day ,when i was editing the word documents, all of a sudden my laptop went on to the blue screen ( Blue screen of death ) and got shutdown .

For those who haven’t known whats is “blue screen death” …

“The Blue Screen of Death (also known as a stop error, BSoD, bluescreen, or Blue Screen of Doom) is an error screen, frequently displayed by certain operating systems, most notably Microsoft Windows, after encountering a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down to prevent damage.

Bluescreens on NT-based Windows systems can be caused by poorly written device drivers or by a malfunctioning hardware. In the Win9x edition, incompatible DLLs or bugs in the kernel of the operating system could also cause bluescreens. Sometimes, when the CPU is hit by any meanss, the computer may restart and shows the BSoD.”

To my suprise , i didn’t install or update any software, still it sucked. I rang the customer care and i explained the issue to them and i was said there was a fault in the Hardware ( some driver ) and they assured me to replace the faulty part with a new one. It took 5 days to get my laptop serviced.

Should i be so proud saying that Compaq services were so good that they didnt charge me ,neither for the service nor for the replacement of the faulty part or rather should i think why such a brand new laptop would get faulty which was hardly 2 days old ? .

HP being one of the most popular competitor in LAPTOP market has produced a question in me whether it could really go for its product quality in the future to come or Myself towards good quality laptop manufacturers.

Testing a products basically involves two major things .

Verification testing - has the functionality been implemented correctly ?
validation testing - has the correct functionality been implemented ?

I feel testing deparment should concentrate on the products before they are into the market or HP can never win the trust of its band among the people. Its not wise to blame all the manufacturer associated with HP . Its all under the name “HP” and its HP who should take the complete responsibility . Quality can never be compromised at any point , big or small ,an issue should be taken seriously.

Lesser the calls in customer service better the product in market .

Notepad++ An Alternative for Microsoft Notepad

When Microsoft release its new OS every time there are couple of application which are most used by the people never changes or improves (Any Guess !!!). Yup! Its Paint and Notepad which people uses in day to day life. With respect to performance it sucks! Try loading a 15MB file in a notepad and check out its performance .

where as Notepad++ is a free (free as in “free speech”, but also as in “free beer”) source code editor and Notepad replacement, which supports several programming languages, running under the MS Windows environment.

In My case i need to load an 100MB file where it loads in a couple of second and the searching speed is excellent.

This project, based on the Scintilla edit component (a very powerful editor component), written in C++ with pure win32 api and STL (that ensures the higher execution speed and smaller size of the program), is under the GPL Licence.

This project is mature. However, as you can see it’s a one-man-project, there are still some bugs and missing features. If you have any question or suggestion about this project, please post them on the forums.

How India calculates inflation

Last Thursday, when journalists questioned Finance Minister P Chidambaram about the rising inflation rate in the country, he quipped:

'Thank God, it's not Friday.'

Yes, indeed, there was no need for Chidambaram to comment on the inflation rate on Thursday, because in India inflation is calculated and announced on Fridays.

How is inflation calculated in India? Why is it announced on Fridays? And how do other countries calculate inflation? Read on . . .

* India uses the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) to calculate and then decide the rate of inflation in the economy. Most developed countries use the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to calculate inflation.
* WPI was first published in 1902, and was one of the major economic indicators available to policy makers until it was replaced by the Consumer Price Index in most developed countries by in the 1970s.
* WPI is the index that is used to measure the change in the average price level of goods traded in wholesale market. In India, price data for 435 commodities is tracked through WPI which is an indicator of movement in prices of commodities in all trades and transactions. It is also the price index which is available on a weekly basis with the shortest possible time lag -- two weeks. The Indian government has taken WPI as an indicator of the rate of inflation in the economy.
* CPI is a statistical time-series measure of a weighted average of prices of a specified set of goods and services purchased by consumers. It is a price index that tracks the prices of a specified basket of consumer goods and services, providing a measure of inflation.
* CPI is a fixed quantity price index and considered by some a cost of living index. Under CPI, an index is scaled so that it is equal to 100 at a chosen point in time, so that all other values of the index are a percentage relative to this one.
* Some economists argue that it is high time that India abandoned WPI and adopted CPI to calculate inflation.
* India is the only major country that uses a wholesale index to measure inflation. Most countries use the CPI as a measure of inflation, as this actually measures the increase in price that a consumer will ultimately have to pay for.
* CPI is the official barometer of inflation in many countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Canada, Singapore and China. The governments there review the commodity basket of CPI every 4-5 years to factor in changes in consumption pattern.
* WPI does not properly measure the exact price rise an end-consumer will experience because, as the same suggests, it is at the wholesale level.
* The main problem with WPI calculation is that more than 100 out of the 435 commodities included in the Index have ceased to be important from the consumption point of view. Take, for example, a commodity like coarse grains that go into making of livestock feed. This commodity is insignificant, but continues to be considered while measuring inflation.
* India constituted the last WPI series of commodities in 1993-94; but has not updated it till now that economists argue the Index has lost relevance and can not be the barometer to calculate inflation.
* The WPI is published on a weekly basis and the CPI, on a monthly basis. And in India, inflation is calculated on a weekly basis and announced on every Friday

Firefox 3 suffers its first vulnerability

“Less than one day after its launch, Firefox 3 has a vulnerability.
According to Tipping Point’s Zero Day Initiative, the vulnerability, which it rates as critical, was reported within the first five hours of Firefox 3’s release.
“Once the vulnerability was verified in TippingPoint’s DVLabs and acquired from the researcher, the vulnerability was promptly reported to the Mozilla security team,” said a representative.
Although the Zero Day Initiative team does not offer specifics until the vendor has a chance to patch it, the blog post did say this vulnerability, which also affects Firefox 2, requires user interaction and could result in an attacker executing arbitrary code.
Mozilla is reported to be working on a fix.
The Zero Day Initiative has been criticized in the past for paying researchers who find vulnerabilities. “

Dasavathaaram - Meaning of 10 Avataars

The Indian Super Hero Kamalhasan again proved himself as genius through his latest venture "Dasavathaaram".

All the people who watched the movie are amazed by the Technical and visual effects but didn’t get the real subtext and reason for the various roles and hence the title. If you knew the real dasavatharams of Lord Vishnu and their characters you can appreciate the script more. Let me explain, starting with the best adapted role:

1. Krishna avatar - Vincent Poovaraghavan
Lord krishna is actually a dalit, he is dark-skinned [shyamalam]. He saved draupadi when she was being violated and he was the actual diplomat in mahabharatham. Lord krishna dies of an arrow striking his lower leg. Now look at how vincent was introduced.. he appears when asin is about to be molested and he saves her like draupadi. Vincent is the dalit diplomat, fights for land issue [soil issue to be exact] and dies from the metal rod striking his leg. Oh even five of vincent's men are drugged at P. Vasu's.. sounds familiar???

2. Balarama avatar - Balarama naidu
This is an easy given. as the name suggests and the role personifies you can easily get it.

3. Mathsya avatar - Ranagaraja nambi
nambi is thrown into water in an act of trying to save lord from being thrown into sea, though vainly. what more clue do you want?

4. Varaha avatar - Krishnaveni paatti
During the mukunda song, krishnaveni paatti does varaha avatar in the shadow puppetry. The frame freezes on it for a second. there is the clue. Moreover, in varaha avatar lord actually hides earth so as to protect life forms. Here too krishnaveni hides the germs - life form inside the statue so as to protect.

5. Vamana avatar - Kalifulla khan
remember in vamana avatar, lord vishnu takes the vishvaroopa, that is the giant form! Hence the giant kalifulla here symbolises vamana avatar.

6. Parasurama avatar - Christian Fletcher
Parasurama is actually on an angry killing spree and killed 21 generations of the particular kshatriya vamsa. Hence the real KILLER... Guess what thats what our Fletcher is! He comes around with the gun [modern upgrade for axe] and kills everyone around. I have to check if he kills 21 people though. :-D

7. Narasimha avatar - Shingen Narahashi
first of all the name itself is a play on the words singam [means lion in tamil] and narasimha [the avatar being symbolised]. Lord Narasimha manifests himelf to kill the bad guy and he also teaches prahaladha. In the movie, he shows up to kill the killer fletcher! and is also a teacher.. Lord Narasimha had to kill the asura with bare hands and hence the martial arts exponent here.. get it?

8. Rama avatar - Avatar Singh
Lord Rama stands for the one man one woman maxim, kind of symbolising true love.. Here Avatar portrays that spirit by saying that he loves his woman more than anything and wants to live for her.

9. Kalki avatar - Govindaraj Ramasamy
As you know, the hero in kaliyug can be none other than the Kalki avatar!!!

10. Koorma avatar - Bush
This is the most loose adaptation I couldn't clearly comprehend. But if you look at the real koorma avatar, the lord is the turtle/tortoise that helps in stirring the ksheera sagara and bringing out the amruth. This essentially creates war among the devas and asuras. Similarly today Bush facilitates war between you know whom... May be Kamal also indicates that this avatar is a bit dumb like the tortoise...

When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner

every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had

made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage,

and extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see

if anyone noticed!

Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my mom, and ask me

how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night,

but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that toast and

eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom

apologize to my dad for burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he

said: 'Baby, I love burned toast.'

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if He

really liked his toast burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said,

'Debbie, your momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real

tired.

And besides-a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!'

In bed that night, I thought about that scene at dinner...and the

kindness my daddy showed my mom. To this day, it's a cherished memory

from my childhood that I'll never forget. And it's one that came to mind

just recently when Jack and I sat down to eat dinner.

I had arrived home late...as usual...and decided we would have breakfast

food for dinner. Some things never change, I suppose!

To my amazement, I found the ingredients I needed, and quickly began to

cook eggs, turkey sausage, and buttered toast. Thinking I had things

under control, I glanced through the mail for the day. It was only a few

minutes later that I remembered that I had forgotten to take the toast

out of the oven!

Now, had it been any other day -- and had we had more than two pieces of

bread in the entire house -- I would have started all over. But it had

been one of those days and I had just used up the last two pieces of

bread.

So burnt toast it was!

As I set the plate down in front of Jack, I waited for a comment about

the toast. But all I got was a 'Thank you!' I watched as he ate bite by

bite, all the time waiting for some comment about the toast. But

instead, all Jack said was, 'Babe, this is great. Thanks for cooking

tonight. I know you had a hard day.'

As I took a bite of my charred toast that night, I thought about my Mom

and dad...how burnt toast hadn't been a deal-breaker for them. And I

quietly thanked God for giving me a marriage where burnt toast wasn't a

deal-breaker either!

You know, life is full of imperfect things...and imperfect people. I'm

not the best housekeeper or cook. And you might be surprised to find out

that Jack isn't the perfect husband! He likes to play his music too

loud. He will always find a way to avoid yard work, and he watches far

too many sports. Believe it or not, watching ' Golf Academy ' is not my

idea of a great night at home!

But somehow in the past 37 years Jack and I have learned to accept the

imperfections in each other.

Over time, we have stopped trying to make each other in our own mold and

have learned to celebrate our differences. You might say that we've

learned to love each other for who we really are!

For example, I like to take my time, I'm a perfectionist, and I'm

even-tempered. I tend to work too much and sleep too little. Jack, on

the other hand, is disciplined, studious, an early riser, and is a

marketer's dream consumer. I count pennies and Jack could care less!

Where he is strong, I am weak, and vice versa.

And while you might say that Jack and I are opposites, we're also very

much alike. I can look at him and tell you what he's thinking. I can

predict these actions before he finalizes his plans. On the other hand,

he knows whether I'm troubled or not the moment I enter a room.

We share the same goals. We love the same things. And we are still best

friends. We've traveled through many valleys and enjoyed many mountain

tops. And yet, at the same time, Jack and I must work every minute of

every day to make this thing called 'marriage' work!

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's

faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is the one

of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting

marriage relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the

good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your married life and lay them at

the feet of GOD.

Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a

marriage where burnt toast isn't a deal-breaker!

What if u upgraded Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0

Dear Tech Support Team:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0.

I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child-processes that took up a lot of space and valuable resources.

In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activities.

Applications such as BachelorNights 10.3, Cricket 5.0 , BeerWithBuddies 7.5 , and Outings 3.6 no longer runs, crashing the system whenever selected. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications.

I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 5.0 , but the 'uninstall ' doesn't work on Wife 1.0.

Please help!

Dear Troubled User:

This is a very common problem that people complain about.

Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program.

Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING !!!

It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 5.0.

It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 5.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed not to allow this. (Look in your Wife 1.0 Manual under Warnings-Alimony- Child Support) ..

I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the environment.

I suggest installing the background application " Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation.

The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.

I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol... but here in Durban, we are also paying higher, up to 47.35 per litre. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every litre.

Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline, where I work in Durban, we deliver about 4 million litres in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.

One day is diesel; the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 litres.

ONLY BUY OR FILL UP YOUR CAR OR BIKKIE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE GROUND TEMPERATURE IS STILL COLD. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening.... your litre is not exactly a litre.

In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role. A 1degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

middle, and high. In slow mode, you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS IS TO FILL UP WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL. The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.

Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every litre is actually the exact amount.

ANOTHER REMINDER, IF THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK PUMPING INTO THE STORAGE TANKS, WHEN YOU STOP TO BUY, DO NOT FILL UP - most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

She is my first and the only love till this point. Her name is Nivedita, a software engineer by profession. She is turning twenty-four shortly and she is undoubtedly the most beautiful girl on earth. I made it a point to share my feelings today with her, hoping this letter would do it all. I have not written any letters in my life till now, and this is perhaps the first time I pen down my thoughts and expectations for the person I love the most on earth.
It’s been four years since we met each other and a strong bond has grown between us through these years. I was unaware of her love for a long time. In fact, I hadn’t spoken a word with her till about a year I had seen her for the first time. It was in one long journey in train, I understood her love for me. It happened a year ago.
It was a trip from Kanyakumari to Chennai in Kanyakumari Express. We had passed Vizhupuram and it was 3 am in the morning. I thought I was the only one who was awake in the whole compartment in that early hour. But to my surprise, she was also awake.
I didn’t know then that it was for me she had got up that early. Hardly had she seemed to move her sight away from me. She smiled at me very often and every time I encountered that cute smile, I started eagerly awaiting the next battle with her smile and shining eyes. Her smile had everything in it, the story of unbelievable affection, care and what not.
From that moment, till now, I too have loved her to a great extent. We have never exchanged words about the love we have towards each other, but words are too less to reflect the amount of affection and love we share. I have always thought that the love would remain throughout our life and it happened to be the same till three months back.
Vivek had come into my life three months back. In fact I myself had waited his arrival for quite a long time, but from the moment he arrived, he has been the worst enemy in my life. Nivedita and he had grown close over times, and the fraction of time she spent with me got lowered to a great extent. Even the latest Sensex fall would be less compared to the fall in her affection for me.
I have wondered how it could suddenly happen, after near to four long years of understanding and love amidst us. At times, I have felt like killing that guy Vivek, but I have not had that much strength or braveness to do that. Still, what can he do? He did no mistake to his part, except for being born charming, cute and fair.
Two days before when I saw her, she was feeding food for him and I was hurt to the core on seeing the incident. My anger had boiled down to tears, and I broke. It took almost close to three hours for me stop crying, I felt I had cried more than how much I would have cried when I was born.
I have been trying to understand where it all went wrong, but to my fortune, till now, I haven’t been able spot it out. Once for all, I decided to tell all my feelings to her, no matter how she is going to deal with it. I have heard my dad saying a lot of times ‘Something is better than nothing!’ and I made up my mind to do ‘something’.
I fixed today to be the ‘DATE’ for throwing open in front of her the ‘TALE’ of my pure love for her. I don’t know whether I will get a positive response from her, but I pray God that only the best happens.

A Leader Should Know How to Manage Failure

India Knowledge@Wharton: Could you give an example, from your own experience, of how leaders should manage failure?

Kalam: Let me tell you about my experience. In 1973 I became the project director of India's satellite launch vehicle program, commonly called the SLV-3. Our goal was to put India's "Rohini" satellite into orbit by 1980. I was given funds and human resources -- but was told clearly that by 1980 we had to launch the satellite into space. Thousands of people worked together in scientific and technical teams towards that goal.

By 1979 -- I think the month was August -- we thought we were ready. As the project director, I went to the control center for the launch. At four minutes before the satellite launch, the computer began to go through the checklist of items that needed to be checked. One minute later, the computer program put the launch on hold; the display showed that some control components were not in order. My experts -- I had four or five of them with me -- told me not to worry; they had done their calculations and there was enough reserve fuel. So I bypassed the computer, switched to manual mode, and launched the rocket. In the first stage, everything worked fine. In the second stage, a problem developed. Instead of the satellite going into orbit, the whole rocket system plunged into the Bay of Bengal. It was a big failure.

That day, the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization, Prof. Satish Dhawan, had called a press conference. The launch was at 7:00 am, and the press conference -- where journalists from around the world were present -- was at 7:45 am at ISRO's satellite launch range in Sriharikota [in Andhra Pradesh in southern India]. Prof. Dhawan, the leader of the organization, conducted the press conference himself. He took responsibility for the failure -- he said that the team had worked very hard, but that it needed more technological support. He assured the media that in another year, the team would definitely succeed. Now, I was the project director, and it was my failure, but instead, he took responsibility for the failure as chairman of the organization.

The next year, in July 1980, we tried again to launch the satellite -- and this time we succeeded. The whole nation was jubilant. Again, there was a press conference. Prof. Dhawan called me aside and told me, "You conduct the press conference today."

I learned a very important lesson that day. When failure occurred, the leader of the organization owned that failure. When success came, he gave it to his team. The best management lesson I have learned did not come to me from reading a book; it came from that experience.

The dismayed teacher was expecting an effortless correct answer (three). She was disappointed. "Maybe the child did not listen properly," she thought. She repeated, "Arnav, listen carefully. If I give you one apple and one apple and one apple, how many apples will you have?"

Arnav had seen the disappointment on his teacher's face. He calculated again on his fingers. But within him he was also searching for the answer that will make the teacher happy. His search for the answer was not for the correct one, but the one that will make his teacher happy. This time hesitatingly he replied, "Four…"

The disappointment stayed on the teacher's face. She remembered that Arnav liked strawberries. She thought maybe he doesn't like apples and that is making him loose focus. This time with an exaggerated excitement and twinkling in her eyes she asked, "If I give you one strawberry and one strawberry and one strawberry, then how many you will have?"

Seeing the teacher happy, young Arnav calculated on his fingers again. There was no pressure on him, but a little on the teacher. She wanted her new approach to succeed. With a hesitating smile young Arnav enquired, "Three?"

The teacher now had a victorious smile. Her approach had succeeded. She wanted to congratulate herself. But one last thing remained. Once again she asked him, "Now if I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple how many will you have?"

Promptly Arnav answered, "Four!"

The teacher was aghast. "How Arnav, how?" she demanded in a little stern and irritated voice.

In a voice that was low and hesitating young Arnav replied, "Because I already have one apple in my bag."

"When someone gives you an answer that is different from what you expect don't think they are wrong. There maybe an angle that you have not understood at all. You will have to listen and understand, but never listen with a predetermined notion."

A helicopter was flying around above Seattle when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications equipment.

Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's position. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, and held up a handwritten sign that said "WHERE AM I?" in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign, and held it in a building window. Their sign said "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER."

The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map, determined the course to steer to SEATAC airport, and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the copilot asked the pilot how he had done it.

"I knew it had to be the Microsoft Building, because they gave me a technically correct but completely useless answer."

We have bought a computer for our home and we have found some problems,

1. There is a button 'start' but there is no 'stop' button. We request you

2. We find there is 'Run' in the menu. One of my friends clicked 'run' he

ran up to Amritsar ! So, we request you to change that to 'sit', so that we

can click that by sitting.

3. One doubt is whether any 're-scooter' is available in system? I find only

're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home.

4. There is 'Find' button but it is not working properly. My wife lost the

door key and we tried a lot trace the key with this ' find' button, but was

unable to trace. Please rectify this problem.

5. My child learnt 'Microsoft word' now he wants to learn 'Microsoft

sentence', so when you will provide that?

6. I bought computer, CPU, mouse and keyboard, but there is only one icon

which shows 'MY Computer': when you will provide the remaining items?

7. It is surprising that windows says 'MY Pictures' but there is not even a

single photo of mine. So when will you keep my photo in that.

8. There is 'MICROSOFT OFFICE' what about 'MICROSOFT HOME' since I use the

PC at home only.

9. You provided 'My Recent Documents'. When you will provide 'My Past

Documents'?

10. You provide 'My Network Places'. For God sake please do not provide 'My

Secret Places'. I do not want to let my wife know where I go after my office

hours.

Most of you may have noticed that Google has a new favicon, the small icon you see in your browser next to the URL or in your bookmarks list. Some people have wondered why they changed their favicon -- after all,they hadn't in 8.5 years(!). Here is what Marissa Mayer, VP Search Products & User Experience, and Micheal Lopez, Web Designer at Google say about it

"You may have noticed that Google has a new favicon, the small icon you see in your browser next to the URL or in your bookmarks list. Some people have wondered why we changed our favicon -- after all, we hadn't in 8.5 years(!). The reason is that we wanted to develop a set of icons that would scale better to some new platforms like the iPhone and other mobile devices. So the new favicon is one of those, but we've also developed a group of logo-based icons that all hang together as a unified set. Here's the full set:

The design process we went through was rigorous and interesting, so we thought we would share more of it here. We tried in total more than 300 permutations. It was much harder than we thought at first. We wanted something distinctive and noticeable, so we aimed toward transparency or semi-transparency, so the image would have a more distinctive noticeable shape than just a block. We wanted something that embraced the colorfulness of the logo, yet wouldn't date itself. Since we don't really have a symbol that means Google, we felt it best to work with the logo and letters within it. Our design team tried literally hundreds of approaches. You can see some of our explorations here.

By no means is the one you're seeing our favicon final; it was a first step to a more

The Seed

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to chose a successor to take over the business. Instead of choosing one of his directors or his children, he decided to do something different.

He called all the young executives in his company together.

"It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO," he said. "I have decided to choose one of you."

The young executives were shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one of you a seed today - a very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO."

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed.

He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed.

Every day, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing.

By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have a plant and he felt like

a failure.

Six months went by - still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however. He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - he so wanted the seed to grow.

A year finally went by, and the time came for all the young executives of the company to bring their plants to the CEO for inspection.

Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened.

Jim felt sick at his stomach. It was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right.

He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful--in all shapes and sizes.

Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed. A few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives.

Jim just tried to hide in the back.

"My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown," said the CEO.

"Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!"

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the financial director to bring him to the front.

Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!"

When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed. Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, "Here is your next Chief Executive! His name is Jim!"

Jim couldn't believe it.

Jim couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new CEO ? the others said.

Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed.

I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow.

All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers.

"When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive!"

One night 4 mba students were boozing till late night and didn't study for the test which was scheduled for the next day.in the morning they thought of a plan.

They made themselves look as dirty and weird as they could with grease and dirt.they then went up to the dean and said that they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their return the tyre of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way back and
that they were in no condition to appear for the test then dean was a just person so he said that you can have the retest after 3 days.they said they will be ready by that time.

On the third day they appeared before the dean.
The dean said that this was a special condition te st.all four were required to separate classrooms for the test. They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last three days.

One night a guy & a girl were driving home from the movies. The boy sensed there was mething wrong because of the painful silence they shared between them that night. The girl then asked the boy to pull over because she wanted to talk. She told him that her feelings had changed & that it was time to move on. A silent tear slid down his cheek as he slowly reached into his pocket & passed her a folded note. At that moment, a drunk driver was speeding down that very same street. He swerved right into the drivers seat, killing the boy.Miraculously, the girl survived. Remembering the note, she pulled it out & read it.

A Girl in CD Store - A Love Story

There was once a guy who suffered from cancer... a cancer that can't be
treated. He was 18 years old and he could die anytime. All his life, he was
stuck in his house being taken cared by his mother. He never went outside
but he was sick of staying home and wanted to go out for once. So he asked
his mother and she gave him permission.

He walked down his block and found a lot of stores. He passed a CD store
and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He stopped and
went back to look into the store. He saw a young girl about his age and he
knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door and walked in, not
looking at anything else but her. He walked closer and closer until he was
finally at the front desk where she sat.

She looked up and asked, "Can I help you?"

She smiled and he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen
before and wanted to kiss her right there.

He said, "Uh... Yeah... Umm... I would like to buy a CD."

He picked one out and gave her money for it.

"Would you like me to wrap it for you?" she asked, smiling her cute smile
again.

He nodded and she went to the back.

She came back with the wrapped CD and gave it to him. He took it and walked
out of the store. He went home and from then on, he went to that store
everyday and bought a CD, and she wrapped it for him. He took the CD home
and put it in his closet. He was still too shy to ask her out and he really
wanted to but he couldn't. His mother found out about this and told him to
just ask her.

So the next day, he took all his courage and went to the store. He bought a
CD like he did everyday and once again she went to the back of the store
and came back with it wrapped. He took it and when she wasn't looking, he
left his phone number on the desk and ran out...

!!!RRRRRING!!!

The mother picked up the phone and said, "Hello?"

It was the girl!!! She asked for the boy and the mother started to cry and
said, "You don't know? He passed away yesterday..."

The line was quiet except for the cries of the boy's mother. Later in the
day. The mother went into the boy's room because she wanted to remember
him. She thought she would start by looking at his clothes. So she opened
the closet. She was face to face with piles and piles and piles of unopened
CDs. She was surprised to find all those CDs and she picked one up and sat
down on the bed and she started to open one.

Inside, there was a CD and as she took it out of the wrapper, out fell a
piece of paper. The mother picked it up and started to read it.

It said: Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me? Love,
Jacelyn

The mother opened another CD...

Again there was a piece of paper. It said: Hi... I think U R really cute.
Do u wanna go out with me? Love, Jacelyn

Love is... when you've had a huge fight but then decide to put aside your
egos, hold hands and say,
"I Love You"

The 90/10 Principle of Stephen Covey

Reading this will change your life (at least the way you react to situations). What is this principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react.

What does this mean?

e really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.

How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light., but you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example. You are eating breakfast with your family. Your

daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just what happened. What happens when the next will be determined by how you react.You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for

knocking the cup over.

She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work.

You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit. After a 15-minute delay and

throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.

Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?

B) Did your daughter cause it?

C) Did the policeman cause it?

D) Did you cause it?

The answer is " D".

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "It's ok honey, you just need, to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush

upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference? Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both ended different.

Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off)

Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive? Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.

You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job. The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it.

The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle.

The result? Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache. We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle.

It CAN change your life!!!"

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty.

He asks one of his new students to stand and.....

Prof: So you believe in God?

Student: Absolutely, sir.

Prof : Is God good?

Student: Sure.

Prof: Is God all-powerful?

Student : Yes.

Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't. How is this God good then? Hmm?

(Student is silent.)

Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?

Student: Yes.

Prof: Is Satan good?

Student : No.

Prof: Where does Satan come from?

Student: From...God...

Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student: Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?

Student: Yes.

Prof: So who created evil?

(Student does not answer.)

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?

Student: Yes, sir.

Prof: So, who created them?

(Student has no answer.)

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?

Student: No, sir.

Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?

Student: No, sir.

Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?

Student: No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?

Student: Yes.

Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Prof: Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as cold?

Prof: Yes.

Student: No sir. There isn't.

(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold . Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat . We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy . Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .

(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light....But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?

Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.

Now tell me, Professor.Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)

Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)

Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?

(The class breaks out into laughter.)

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain,sir.

With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)

Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.

Student: That is it sir... The link between man & god is FAITH . That is all that keeps things moving & alive.
